What is Pull-Through?
Why it's an essential follow-on to training.
While it is critical to
get trained and educated in the concepts and theories as
well as the best practices of innovation, it is essential to
get those new ideas applied, debugged and practiced as
quickly as possible. "Pull-through" is the term we use for
the process of pulling the workshop attendee through the
process of applying the learnings on real projects - in the
weeks and months after the course is completed. We offer
project integration of training, coaching of attendees'
managers, post-workshop report-out meetings, and downstream
one-on-ones with workshop attendees to help them remember,
apply and tune the learnings after their workshop experience
is done. This makes the
learning process far more effective,
pulls people through "the valley of despair" (disappointment
and problems that inevitably follow the initial enthusiasm
of any new knowledge and methods) and keeps people on to the
road to successful application. This fixes and reverses
the major complaint of training: that in most training, the
material is often soon forgotten and overwhelmed by "daily
life." Pull-through makes "daily life" a subsequent part of
the training process.
