Example: Product Company winning with innovation
Cascade
Microtech - Advanced Development Group
Peter Navratil, Manager of Advanced Development
We have been using Innovation Frameworks and Jon Marshall
for over 3 years now in a wide variety ways. We originally
sent a number of our senior engineers to their flagship
course "Managing the Fuzzy Front End of Projects". I have to
say that, as an advanced development group, we totally
resonated with the concepts and found them ideal for
planning and organizing new development, especially at the
tricky "fuzzy front end". We brought Jon in to teach the
same course internally to our marketing and development
engineers and this was followed by onsite consulting to help
a number of aspects of our overall product lifecycle model.
I have brought Jon in numerous times over the past several
years to help us solve sticky problems and provide models
for managing at the leading edge of innovation. He has a
very unique combination of people skills and technical
ability. And he has been able to involve many experts to
contribute to and help develop his unique and powerful model
of innovation. I have to attribute much success to things we
learned or developed with Innovation Frameworks.
Example: Service Company winning with innovation
EasyStreet Online Services
John Beaston & Rich Bader, Co-founders
EasyStreet’s Managed Services business was growing strongly
and starting to out-strip our handcrafted, informal business
processes. We brought Innovation Frameworks in to help us
up-scale our processes to improve customer satisfaction and
streamline our operations. Their chief consultant, Jon
Marshall, was able to very quickly discover the essence of
our issues and launched us on a 6-month process to develop,
improve and innovate our service lifecycle model, develop
internal metrics, and greatly improve the pro-activity of
our new managed services model. His facilitation skills are
superb and he was able to get the whole team to see systemic
issues that cut across the various functions of our
organization and to develop solutions to them. Innovation
Frameworks has developed some very unique and innovative
models for understanding and dealing with the problems of
growth and development and they have helped us over a number
of hurdles as our company grows. We highly recommend them
for in-depth analysis and expert team facilitation to
improve your business model and processes.
Example: Product Company winning
with innovative program management
Tektronix
Kelcie Anderson, Program Manager
I wanted to thank you for your excellent workshop on program
management. Your emphasis on a program manager's
responsibility to the business result was very timely for
me. The VERY NEXT DAY after the workshop, one of my
program's bounding box goals came into question. The team
was hoping the bounding box could just be changed to reflect
where we were at. It would have been easy for me to focus on
this approach, thinking that the most important thing was to
bring my program to the end. Instead, I was focused on
delivering the best business result. And even though it is
very painful for the program to contemplate making a major
change or even cancellation, I feel very confident that I am
focused on the right question.
Example: Nonprofit Organization winning with innovation
Program
Management Forum
Jose Campos, Founder
The Program Management Forum is a non-profit educational
organization which was created to help project and program
managers learn from experts and each other - the latest and
best techniques for managing complex programs. Jon Marshall,
from Innovation Frameworks, volunteered to help us and
quickly rose to a leadership role in the organization. We
elected him president and he immediately led us through an
extensive vision-development process to take us to the next
level. With his leadership, we became very customer-focused
and with surveys and analysis were able to proactively
design programs for our members that gave us the best year
ever in attendance and ratings. Jon also volunteered to lead
our first conference last spring in collaboration with the
Oregon Chapter of the PDMA and it resulted in an excellent
and very innovative conference with top speakers. Jon has
excellent facilitation and people involvement skills in
addition to being technically very savvy and quick. The
models and frameworks he developed in collaboration with
other industry experts have been put to good use in our
Program Management Forum and demonstrates the universal
applicability of the tools and techniques.
